is there a dentist that does the first visit free? like the assessment kind of thing not an actual cleaning or anything. I thought I had heard of some that do this? TIA

Seeking out the most affordable dentist that is takin new clients?
Mandi P.: All dentist's charge by a fee guide put out every February. It's up to the office if they want to charge over and above that fee guide. Most offices don't. Promontory Dental 604-824-4988 and Affinity Oral Care Centre 604-392-3192 located on Eagle Landing Parkway are both accepting patients and are both great offices. They are open evenings and Saturdays and bill directly to insurance.

Where would I find a good dentist would could get me in toys to pull a tooth or root canel my dentist is closed today and I've been up with pain all night I hate dentists but need to find someone asap

Anyone recommend a good dentist here?
Mandi P.: If ur looking for someone that does implants Dr Lawson at Affinity Oral Care Centre 604-392-3192. He does a lot of full mouth restorations. Crown, bridge and veneers. My personal opinion, if ur going with veneers ur better off with crowns. Veneers can chip and come off easier. Similar to a fake finger nail the outer surface is shaved off and the veneer is glued on. A crown the whole tooth is prepped and covered with a crown or otherwise known as a cap. It's much stronger. Root canals can be done in 1 or 2 appointments depending how complicated it is. The first appt the tooth is open and the nerve taken out then a temp filling is placed. The 2 nd appt the roots of the teeth are cleaned out and then filled with something called gutta percha and a permanent filling is placed. Once a root canal has been completed a crown is recommend because the blood supply to the tooth is gone and it becomes brittle and may break.

Wondering about braces in the area.... We just got quoted $5600 which I am guessing must be average but I want to check a few other places first.... suggestions?
Mandi P.: If u go thru a general dentist it is cheaper then a 'specialist'/orthodontist. Affinity Oral Care Centre - Dr.Ed Lawson does braces and has 20 years exp. 604-392-3192. They also bill directly to your ins plan.
