Very disappointed with the maintenance and lack of communication at Vedder View Gardens Cemetery. My relative’s ashes are interred here, and I also purchased a nearby space for future use. For more than two years, the area around my relative’s resting place has deteriorated. There is no grass around the space, the wooden garden edging nearby is rotten, and soil washes onto the memorial stone. I have photographs from different years showing the worsening condition. I called twice within this year, and the secretary recorded my concerns both times. I then visited in person, and she took my phone number again and assured me that the owner would call. I have received no call, no resolution, and no estimated date for repairs. Families should be able to visit their loved ones’ resting places knowing the grounds are cared for and their concerns will be addressed. After this experience, I have lost confidence in the cemetery and am considering moving my relative’s ashes elsewhere.
