It was mentioned in a hop thread a few days ago that there are wild hops growing in the brewery creek area of town and it got me thinking: wouldn't it be cool to brew a historic recipe from one of the old breweries with hops that could be descendants of actual hops used by the brewer? This put me on a google quest for the last few days. The holy grail of this quest would be a brew log from one of the pre-prohibition breweries. I've found out a lot of cool things about beer history in canada but nothing close to the details I'm looking for. Does anyone know anything about Vancouver brewing history? Any ideas on where to look?
